UX Case Study
Shield Wallet is a multi-chain crypto wallet app that helps you manage your cryptocurrency investments. With the wallet app, you can easily aggregate multiple blockchain tokens into one convenient location, giving you full control over your crypto assets.
Hinged on the Proof-of-Stake (POS) consensus, the wallet app gives you the flexibility of staking your tokens native to POS blockchains like Cardano (ADA), Solana (SOL).

Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism became more and more popular, as it offers several advantages over the traditional Proof of Work (PoW) mechanism. This has led to an increase in the number of PoS blockchain networks and the number of digital assets that can be staked.

Managing multiple blockchain assets and keeping track of various cryptocurrency investments can be time-consuming and confusing for users (especially new users).

Competitive analysis
I sampled two wallets Trust wallet and Phantom wallet. I compared the staking experience of each app as a new and returning user. I also sampled comments on the App store to get the essence of what their users struggle with the most while using them and what they are not too keen on.

After analyzing the competition, I took to a quick survey among people who use crypto wallets daily and are enthusiasts relative to crypto staking.

To identify the feelings and pain points the customer might go through while creating a new wallet and staking their assets, I created a user journey map.

Two personas has been created to help me identify and explore wants and/or needs of users so as to design my app with specific target users in mind.

Due to time and space constraints, fall state flows were created but not shown. I created a simple flow diagram of the main tasks the user can do (e.g Staking), hence outlining necessary functionality.

It would have been so painstaking if I started to designing a high-fid right after a low-fid or mid-fid and I didn’t test the designs. So threw a digital low-fid flow (wallet creation) into Useberry.
